Our company, Mountains Path, offers exciting trekking opportunities on the Brahmatal Trek, renowned for its spectacular frozen lakes, enchanting forests, and grandstand views of Himalayan giants. We specialise in organising winter treks to Brahmatal, as this season offers the most magical experience. This trek strikes a perfect balance, providing an accessible adventure for fit beginners while delivering the thrill of a true Himalayan expedition. The unique combination of frozen lakes and dramatic mountain panoramas solidifies its reputation as one of the premier winter treks in Uttarakhand.
During the spring and summer, the trails are lined with blooming rhododendrons, and daytime temperatures can be a pleasant 15-20 degrees Celsius. In winter, however, the landscape transforms into a breathtaking expanse of white, with frozen lakes and snow-laden forests creating a true wonderland for trekkers. Winter temperatures can plummet to -10 degrees Celsius, especially at night, with the cold climate persisting from December through March.

The base camp for the trek is in Lohajung, a vibrant village nestled in the Chamoli district. It is approximately an 8-10 hour drive from Dehradun, and the journey itself is breathtaking, offering majestic views of the holy confluences at Devprayag and Rudraprayag. The trek traverses stunning oak and rhododendron forests, allowing trekkers to experience serene alpine landscapes. The ascent to the frozen lakes of Bekaltal and Brahmatal is the twin highlight of this remarkable journey .        The difficulty level of the Brahmatal Trek varies with the seasons. Spring and autumn are ideal for beginners, while winter significantly increases the challenge due to snow and cold. As such, while beginners can attempt the winter trek, prior experience is highly recommended. The trek typically lasts around five days, adding to the overall challenge but making the final reward all the more fulfilling.
